Ranger Engine and Power

The Ranger's base engine is a 2.3-liter turbo-four that produces 310 lb-ft of torque and 270 horsepower. It also is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine provides rapid acceleration and no turbo lag.

The pickup rides like a comfortable crossover and boasts one of the best ride qualities in the class, perfect for passenger comfort. The Ranger also has sharp, responsive steering and balance for turns and curves. Off-road, the Ranger can take on ruts, rock crawls, steep inclines, and more, especially with the off-road-oriented trim levels. Properly equipped, the Ranger can tow up to 7,500 pounds.

Ranger Cabin Comfort and Space

The Ranger comes in SuperCab and SuperCrew models with seating for four or five people, respectively. The front seats are roomy and comfortable, and the rear has plenty of space for passengers. Cloth seats are standard, but you could upgrade to vinyl or leather upholstery and add available features like heated seats and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The Ranger offers a 5-foot or 6-foot bed, depending on the configuration. Properly equipped, the truck boasts a payload of 1,560 pounds to 1,860 pounds. With the available Bed Utility package, you can add features like a drop-in bed liner and an in-bed power outlet.

Ranger Features

The Ranger comes standard with a SYNC® infotainment system and a display screen. You can upgrade to the intuitive SYNC® 3 interface with an 8-inch touchscreen and a combination of touch inputs and physical controls. Bluetooth connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot are included. Several optional upgrades are available, such as a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, two USB ports, HD radio, and satellite radio. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® are optional, which connect to your phone for on-the-go entertainment.

Numerous safety features are included for the Ranger, such as a rearview camera, Automatic Emergency Braking, and MyKey, a feature that lets you set limits in the vehicle to teach good habits to teen drivers. Adaptive Cruise Control is optional, which adjusts your cruise speed on the highway to stay with the flow of traffic. A Lane-Keeping System and Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage, a feature that alerts you to vehicles in your blind spot, are optional. Another available feature is Auto High-Beam Headlamps to help you confidently drive at night.
