Car seat safety is a topic that we always hear about in the news, and for good reason. Keeping children safe during travel is a topic that warrants extra attention. Using a car seat is one of the best ways to ensure your child is protected in case an accident would occur.

While older children are just fine in a booster seat with an adult seat belt, infants must be secured in an age-appropriate infant or convertible car seat. While a convertible car seat may last longer, they are more costly and bulky. In general, infant car seats last through age two. Yet, many car seat manufacturers have their own height and weight recommendations for their car seat models.

Another less-known type of car seat is the 3-in-1 car seat. This type of car seat is just as adjustable as a convertible car seat, but it takes it a step further by allowing for a transformation into a boost seat, too.
