Ford Releases April Sales Report

As the Ford Motor Company drives out of April, it leaves behind a monthly sales report of 214,695 total vehicles sold. According to, over 140,000 of these vehicles come from retail sales, and is made up of over 70,000 Ford F-Series pickup trucks, nearly 74,000 fleet vehicles, and over 67,000 SUVs sold.

This was a new April sales record for Ford SUVs and consists of percentage sales increases from the Ford Escape, the Ford Expedition, and the Ford Edge. The Escape posted a seven percent sales increase, selling over 25,000 vehicles. The Expedition sold over 5,000 vehicles, posting a 13 percent sales increase, and the Ford Edge posted a six percent sales increase after selling over 12,000 vehicles.

Regarding the F-Series trucks, close to 70 percent of all F-150s sold in April were equipped with one of the available EcoBoost engines, and the F-150 Raptor was also in high demand. Demand for the Super Duty models was primarily focused on the higher-level trims as well as with the available new diesel transmission.
